Amsterdam, Netherlands (20 June 2025) — Fancard today publicly launched its fan-engagement platform at Queen & King of the Court (QKOTC), the beach-volleyball tournament hosted inside the BetCity Arena pop-up in the heart of Utrecht. Beginning with this week’s matches, spectators can mint time-stamped “moments” as personalized digital collectibles, deepening their connection with the sport and its athletes.

“Sport is about the memories you make in the stands,” said Sean Endler, Fancard co-founder. “With Fancard, every fan now owns a piece of that moment forever—created in seconds on their phone.”

Co-founder Johnny McMahon added, “Early pilots with the New York Giants and high school sports, proved that digital collectibles drive deeper fan loyalty. Launching at QKOTC takes that insight to the global stage.”

David Dwinger, chief executive officer of venture studio ve2ventures, called the rollout “a milestone for European sports tech,” adding, “Fancard’s real-time engagement tools bridge the gap between in-arena energy and digital community, giving rights holders rich first-party insights while rewarding fans.”

MVP features live at QKOTC 2025

  • Personalized digital collectibles: Fans scan a courtside QR code to mint a unique keepsake from any rally or highlight.

  • First-party data engine: Rights holders receive opt-in profile, geo-location and contact data to refine marketing.

  • Sponsor moments: Brands integrate natively into fan social feeds via branded collectible frames, gaining higher attention than standard ads.

During QKOTC, fans who share their collectibles can appear on the venue’s live leaderboard and become eligible for surprise perks.

“Our mission is to make every spectator part of the show,” said Lucas Bugter, chief marketing officer at Sportworx, the event organizer. “Fancard transforms passive viewing into an interactive game that travels with you long after the final whistle.”
