Design Engineer
We’re ve2ventures, a venture studio that invests in external startups and also builds our own companies from the ground up. We are a unique mix of entrepreneurs, product and tech experts, driven by a passion to build amazing and innovative products. Together, we’re building the world’s largest sports and media tech ecosystem.
In 3 years we’ve grown to a team of 60+, working on over 20 ventures and supported by 35 investors. As our startups grow and mature, so grows our need for high quality output. That’s where you, our new Design Engineer, will come in. You’ll be working alongside four experienced designers to apply craft across digital experiences.
What you'll do
Own features end to end. From framing the problem and designing the interaction through to merged, production frontend code.
Prototype in code, on real data. Answer design questions by building.
Work fluently with AI coding agents as your default way of building: write clear specs, direct the agent, review its output critically, and take over manually when that's the faster or safer path.
Extend and maintain our design system components, tokens, patterns.
Raise the bar on the details that usually get dropped: motion, empty and error states, loading behaviour, accessibility.
Collaborate closely with the design team on craft and consistency, and with engineering on architecture, feasibility, and scope.
What we're looking for
Around 3–5 years designing digital products, with a portfolio that shows interaction and visual craft.
Real comfort in a frontend codebase. You don't need to be the strongest engineer in the room, but you should understand what you're shipping, and be able to debug it when something goes wrong.
Hands-on experience with AI coding agents (Claude Code or similar)
Strong opinions about quality that hold up under real deadlines and real constraints.
Clear written communication. When you're specifying work for both colleagues and agents.
Fluency in Figma or an equivalent design tool.
Nice to have
Experience building or maintaining a design system used by multiple teams.
Motion and prototyping skills (Framer Motion, Rive, GSAP, or similar).
Backend or full-stack familiarity.
Sport-tech, media experience.
What we offer

• Unlimited holidays
• Regular team sport activities (padel, football or running).
• All the tools you need to perform your work (MacBook Pro, screen and other peripherals).
• Pension
• Daily lunch, snacks & fruit
